A classic Fresno burger spot opens a 7th location. Same retro vibe — and a drive-thru

The juicy burgers. The black-and-white checkered floor. The advertising art from decades past plastering the walls.

If you’ve ever been inside a Triangle Drive In Burgers restaurants, you know the vibe.

The locally owned longtime burger joint is a Fresno classic and it just opened its seventh location last month. It’s at Highway 180 and Brawley Avenue.

It’s one of those comfort food places known for its hamburgers. It’s got the same menu — and the same 1960s music playing — as the other locations, said owner Zahi Saleh.

“Our No. 1 seller is the burger,” he said. “We sell burgers all day.”

If you want to get technical, the bacon cheeseburger is the top-selling burger, he said.

There are also fries, milkshakes and ice cream. Other entrees include chicken and pastrami sandwiches, and jumbo chili dogs.

Triangle Burger now has five locations in Fresno and one each in Clovis and Tulare.

The newest location has a drive-thru, not something every location has.

The drive-thru is open til midnight and already popular.

Why southwest Fresno?

The restaurant is in a newly built development next to a gas station.

So why choose here, on the outskirts of town, to open a Triangle Burger?

“This area, it needed something,” Saleh said. “The gas station was a huge success here. ... So a restaurant would be perfect because we’re the only ones here.”

Even though Kerman is about 12 miles away, about 80% of Triangle Burger’s customers are from the small city. So many that they’ve internally started calling it the Kerman location.

Details: The new Triangle Drive In Burgers restaurant is at 70 N . Brawley Ave. Hours: The restaurant and the drive-thru are open 10 a.m. to midnight daily.

Zahi Saleh has opened the seventh Triangle Drive In Burgers location, this time adjacent to an ARCO AM/PM gas station at Brawley Avenue and Highway 180. The burger joint, which features a classic American retro diner with a rock ‘n’ roll themed interior, opened on April 20.
