Where is Clarkson’s Farm and Diddly Squat shop?

Clarkson's Farm is heading back to our screens for season three, promising more rural chaos and tense moments for petrolhead-turned-farmer Jeremy Clarkson.

The documentary series sees former Top Gear star Clarkson attempt to live out his ambitions to become a successful farmer, regularly falling out with farm manager Kaleb Cooper who is constantly frustrated by the TV star's decisions.

But where is the farm, and how can fans pay it a visit? Here's all you need to know about where the Amazon Prime Video series is filmed.

Where is Clarkson's Farm filmed?

Clarkson's Farm is not actually called after its owner - the real name is Diddly Squat Farm, chosen by Clarkson because of its lack of productivity when he took it over.

However, bringing in Kaleb Cooper's farm expertise has helped the car enthusiast to begin to turn things around and in season three they will try to make a profit from the areas of woodland by making jam.

Diddly Squat Farm is in Chadlington, near the upmarket Oxfordshire town of Chipping Norton, the Cotswolds location known for attracting famous residents and second home owners including David Cameron.

Fans of the series will be familiar with scenes from the farm house and offices, fields of crops and animals, and will now get to explore more of its woodland.

Can you visit Clarkson's Farm?

Although Diddly Squat is a working farm and so the fields are not open to the public, Diddly Squat Farm Shop has become almost as famous after being featured heavily in the show.

The farm shop is on the farm site and is open to customers who want to but Clarkson's produce - including milk, eggs, jam, honey and alcohol - but was temporarily closed during January and February this year.

It is now reopen for visitors, although plans to expand with a lavish restaurant have been shut down after a row over planning permission.

Locals had complained that it was causing large amounts of traffic and disruption to the rural area, and while Clarkson had hoped to go ahead with a scaled-back version an enforcement notice from the council forced the restaurant to close.

Clarkson's Farm controversy with locals

He might have amassed plenty of fans over his years on TV, but having so many people keen to visit Diddly Squat Farm has not made Clarkson popular with the locals.

The rural area had been a peaceful haven, but once Clarkson's Farm launched on Prime Video it made the site a tourist destination for many - causing huge traffic jams and complaints that large numbers of visitors were parking on grass verges.

People living nearby even complained that they had been unable to get to Covid vaccination appointments because there was so much traffic from fans making pilgrimages to the farm, and Clarkson admitted he had encountered problems with visitors urinating on his driveway.

In season two, he was shown hosting a cheese and wine meeting for locals to air their grievances and told them: "You have my complete sympathy. I am just as keen as you are to try to manage the situation.

"I have people peeing on my drive. Look, I hope that now the school holidays are over and the pandemic is, hopefully, easing, there will be less."

Clarkson has also faced opposition to his planned restaurant and to his applications to build more barns on the site.
