Clark County investigates 3 possible hypothermia deaths after winter storm

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – As the region recovers from a recent bout of severe winter weather, Clark County officials say they are now investigating three suspected hypothermia deaths.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the county’s medical examiner is still investigating the deaths, but the county suspects they are “related to recent cold weather.” Details have yet to be shared with the public.

Meanwhile, Multnomah County is investigating four possible hypothermia deaths, and Washington County is investigating one.

Officials say the cause of these deaths will not be confirmed for several weeks or even months.
