City Watch issued for teen, toddler last seen getting in car with two men

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are looking for a teenager and her toddler son after they were last seen getting into a car with two men Monday.

Estefania Chavez, 16, and Ariel Martine, 3, were last seen in the 3400 block of Brookdale in Parkway Village.

MPD says they were captured on video getting into a small four-door, silver sedan with two men, who were both wearing orange shirts.

Ashley Gomez, Chavez’s sister-in-law and legal guardian says she is worried that the two are no longer in Memphis.

“All we’ve been able to do is just file a police report and just show them what we have,” she said.

A home security camera captured a video of Chavez and her son at 11:17 p.m. She was wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans, and sandals, holding two zip-up duffle bags.

Her son Ariel was seen on camera carrying a blue blanket. It is unknown what the toddler was last seen wearing.

The mother and her son walked north on Brookdale where a neighbor’s security camera took the above picture of two men waiting by a small 4-door silver sedan.

Teen arrested, facing list of charges after Memphis crime spree

Police say the teenager and child got into the vehicle and left, leaving behind a trail of questions with no answers.

“We just don’t know where she’s at right now, where she’s headed to, and we don’t know who the two men she’s with are,” Gomez said.

Gomez says the teenager’s disappearance, whether intentional or not, has created a larger issue for her and her husband.

“We have full custody of her and her kid, so now she did run away, which is gonna turn a little bit bigger because even though it’s her son, basically we have custody of the son,” said Gomez.

Chavez is described as being 5’6 and 120 pounds. Gomez believes the mother and child are no longer in Memphis or even the state of Tennessee.

Police believe the teenager and child could be headed north. Anyone with information is urged to call MPD at 901-545-2677.
