City of San Angelo offices to close Monday, Memorial Day weekend activities to enjoy

San Angelo city offices will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

There will be no interruption in trash collection, according to a news release from the city of San Angelo. The landfill will be closed Saturday but will be open Memorial Day.

Lake Nasworthy parks

Day passes to Middle Concho and Spring Creek parks at Lake Nasworthy are available at their entry gates for $5 per vehicle. Season entry passes can also be purchased for $20 for ages 65+ and those with disabilities, or $30 for the general public.

Camping permits are $10 per campsite per night. The permits can be bought at the entry gates and at Spring Creek Marina.

Municipal pool

The pool season will kick off noon Saturday. The pool will remain open for Memorial Day from noon to 6 p.m. Hours of operation are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 18 E. Ave. A.

Fort Concho

Fort Concho will have a Memorial Day special program at 9 a.m. Monday in front of the Headquarters Building to honor U.S. military personnel.

"Aaron Woods, a veteran of the Gulf War as a member of the United States Marine Corps, will give the main address," the release stated. "The Fort Concho Living History Program and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans will fire the memorial salutes."

Fort Concho will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day with 10 exhibit and display buildings available.

  • City Hall and the Community Development building

  • City Hall Annex

  • Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices

  • Municipal Court

  • Parks and Recreation offices

  • San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department

  • Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers

  • Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers

  • WIC offices

City offices will reopen Tuesday.
