Department: Multiple departments
Salary: $28.34 to $34.44 hourly
The executive assistant is responsible for handling administrative tasks and confidential information for the department head.
Some qualifications include managing budgets, maintaining records, and understanding both federal and state laws, codes, rules and regulations.

Associate Civil/Traffic Engineer | Permanent, full time
Department: Multiple departments
Salary: $98,987 to $120,328 annually
The associate civil/traffic engineer is responsible for creating and overseeing plans for a variety of public projects including roads, water systems and buildings.
Some basic requirements are understanding the city’s standards and regulations, calculating costs and ensuring projects are environmentally friendly.

Airport Manager | Permanent, full time
Department: Public Works
Salary: $104,000 to $126,401 annually
The airport manager is responsible for overseeing daily functions at the airport, including maintenance, security and the coordinating events.
This role requires specific qualifications, such as understanding airport management principles, Federal Aviation Administration regulations and leadership skills.

Principal Planner | Permanent, full time
Department: Community and Economic Development
Salary: $109,262 to $132,808 annually
The principal planner is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the divisions within the department and other city departments.
Some minimum qualifications include being skilled in research, budgeting, and office work, such as computer software applications.

Senior Civil/Traffic Engineer | Permanent, full time

Salary: $117,665 to $143,020 annually
The senior civil/traffic engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and supervising projects related to building and road developments.
This position requires some minimum qualifications, including be able to understand engineering principles, construction methods and using office software.

Systems Engineer I and II | Permanent, full time
Department: Information Technology
Salary: $35.39 to $47.48 hourly
The systems engineer is responsible for handling tasks, such as analyzing, planning and maintaining systems related to the Network Operating Systems, local and wide area networks, telecommunications networks and other platforms.
Basic qualifications include understanding computer networks, telecommunications and web development.

Fire Chief | Permanent, full time
Department: Modesto Fire Department
Salary: $173,555 to $225,617 annually
The fire chief is responsible for leading the fire team and lead and overseeing the functions of the department, such as putting out fires, handling hazardous materials and providing medical support during emergencies.
Basic qualifications include using firefighting equipment, leading a team, understanding regulations, managing budgets and using office software.
