City of LaGrange holds monthly litter clean-up on Saturday, May 11

LaGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — LaGrange citizens are coming together to clean up the city on Saturday. If you decide to come along, you may even get coffee and donuts out of the deal.

For this month’s litter clean-up, volunteers are meeting in the Calumet Park parking lot at 8 a.m. on May 11. The clean-up is expected to last through 10 a.m.

The City of LaGrange says to simply show up — all supplies will be provided. The Rail District is set to give coffee and donuts out to attendees.

If you can’t pencil this Saturday into your schedule, here’s a look at the clean-up calendar from now through 2025:

  • “Saturday, May 11th, 8:00-10:00 a.m., Calumet Park’s parking lot 109 Union Street in LaGrange. Community partner is Calumet Park Neighborhood Association. The Rail District will provide donuts and coffee

  • Saturday, September 14th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Moss+Wood Park, meet in the parking lot 118 Brown Street. Community partner is Troup-Coweta Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

  • Saturday, October 5th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. in the Hillside Neighborhood. We will meet in the parking lot at 900 Dallis Street. Community partner is DASH.

  • Saturday, November 2nd, 8:00-10:00 a.m. in front of Berta Weathersbee Elementary School, 1200 Forrest Avenue.

  • Saturday, December 7th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. THE THREAD Trail Head, behind St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 207 North Greenwood Street. Community Partner is St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

  • Saturday, February 1st, 8:00-10:00 a.m., LaGrange Fire Department Headquarters, 115 Hill Street.

  • Saturday, March 1st, 8:00-10:00 a.m., Jones Street Park, 131 Jones Street. Community Partner is Bell Line Community. There will be an Arbor Day celebration on this day.

  • Friday, April 18th, CITY-WIDE CLEANUP 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. City employees will pick up litter throughout the community. The public is invited to participate too.
