City of Lackawanna assessor fired from her post
LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The City of Lackawanna’s assessor has been fired from her job.
According to the Office of Mayor Annette Lafallo, former assessor Debbie Skulski-Wakelam, “was discharged from her duties for actions unbecoming of a city officer,” two weeks ago. News 4 reached out to the mayor’s office for more information.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the mayor says Skulski-Wakelam was discharged from her position on May 7. The statement also says that because this is a personnel matter, the city will not have any further comment.
News 4 reached out to city council members and Skulski-Wakelam for comment, but has not heard back yet.
Skulski-Wakelam has served as city assessor for at least two and a half years. The mayor is expected to update city council on this matter Monday night. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Lackawanna City Hall.
