City of Hinton replacing basketball hoops

HINTON, WV (WVNS) — The city of Hinton is replacing four basketball hoops around town.

The park at 5th Avenue and Front Street, and Bellepoint Park will both be getting new hoops in the coming weeks.

“We got the basketball goals in yesterday, there’s four altogether and today’s the first day that we’ve started it and it’ll probably take us a couple weeks to put them in,” said John Collins, a City of Hinton Public Works employee.

The old goals were bent and broken and are being replaced by new solid steel goals. The posts, backboards, and rims are all made from steel to prevent damage.
