In the 1980s, Newport punk venue the Jockey Club featured all the legendary punk acts of the day, including the Ramones, the Cramps and the Replacements.

Iggy Pop gave one of his most legendary concerts at the now-demolished Crosley Field in 1970. An iconic photo captures the shirtless rock star crowd surfing, standing atop the crowd.
