Cincinnati weather: Dry, warm start; then more rain to return this week

Enjoy the dry weather while it lasts. Another round of showers and storms is expected to move through Greater Cincinnati this week.

According to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, dry weather is forecast for Monday. Fog may develop near the larger river valley spots. Otherwise, expect abundant sunshine to start the day for most areas.

Unseasonably warm conditions are forecast for Monday, with highs reaching into the upper 80s.

Showers and storms could return as early as Tuesday. However, there is a slight chance of a few afternoon and evening showers at this time. Most areas are expected to stay relatively dry. Tuesday is likely to be the warmest day of the week, reaching the 90-degree mark for the first time this year.

One or more rounds of showers and storms are likely Wednesday through Wednesday night. Strong to severe storms will be possible during this time, with damaging winds being the primary threat.

A chance for showers and storms will persist into Thursday. Slightly cooler conditions are in store for the end of the workweek. There may be additional chances for showers and storms by Friday into the upcoming weekend.

New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
