Cicero man accused of opening fire on car with 5 people inside

CHICAGO — A Cicero man accused of opening fire on a vehicle with five people inside on the city’s West Side in early May is now facing a slew of felony Charges.

19-year-old Juan Loredo who was taken into custody on Monday, is facing 10 felony charges, including five counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, and two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

The charges stem from an early-morning shooting that allegedly unfolded in Austin on Sunday, May 5.

Officers say just after 4 a.m., in the 1600 block of North Cicero Avenue, Loredo allegedly opened fire on a vehicle, leaving three of the five occupants injured.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities have not provided updates on the condition of the victims.

Authorities eventually caught up with Loredo in the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road in Skokie where he was taken into custody.

On Tuesday, Loredo appeared in court for a detention hearing.
