Chuck Pagano has a simple message for his players
Just a year ago the Indianapolis Colts arrived in Anderson to open training camp with the expectations of making the Super Bowl. They were riding high after making the AFC Championship game and had their stud quarterback who just lead the NFL in touchdown passes.
They loaded up with veterans in Trent Cole, Todd Herremans, Andre Johnson and Frank Gore to help get them over the edge and bring home the Lombardi trophy. And we all know how that season went. A brash string of injuries, inconsistent play and questionable play calling lead to an 8-8 season and no playoffs.
So when the Colts opened camp yesterday Chuck Pagano wanted to clear things up before today’s first practice.
His message? A simple one. “Get better”.

The Colts will be starting a rookie center, hopefully getting back a healthy Andrew Luck and Henry Anderson, and are still trying to figure out who is starting on the right side of the offensive line.
Factor in that they will be trotting out the oldest defense in the league, you have an interesting season ahead.
Clayton Geathers, who is entering his second season was expected to compete for a starting safety spot. Instead he has started camp on the PUP list with a broken bone in his foot.
Art Jones is facing a four-game suspension, and is still trying to come back from injuries.
So many questions to answer over the next month, but Pagano still wants it simple.
Maybe this should be the message all season. Just get better. After each rep, each drill, each play, each film session and each game.
Maybe, and just maybe then will the Colts get back on top of the AFC South mountain.
