Christina And Tarek El Moussa Are Dating Other People: Source
Some fans of HGTV’s “Flip or Flop” were shocked when hosts Christina and Tarek El Moussa, a seemingly perfect couple, announced their split Monday. The couple has dated other people since they fought in May, People Magazine wrote in an exclusive report. They’ve also been living in different homes.
Christina, 33, has been living with their children: daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 1. Tarek visited them several days a week.
When Christina wasn’t with Tarek, 34, she went on dates with another man, who wasn't identified. Tarek also dated, People Magazine noted. While they are both having relations outside their marriage, cheating was not the reason for their split. Instead, it was a blowout fight in the spring that caused the El Moussas to separate.
The HGTV stars talked about their breakup in an official statement. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed,” they said.
Police were called May 23 after Tarek took a gun and walked into the woods. Rumors swirled that he was suicidal, but Tarek supposedly took the firearm to ward off any wild animals. He needed the walk to “blow off steam,” TMZ reported Monday. Five guns, including an AR-15 assault rifle, were removed from the home.
Despite their problems, Christina and Tarek aren't giving up. They want to work on their relationship. “During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be,” they said. “We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”
HGTV also addressed the breakup in an official statement. “We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina's great work on ‘Flip or Flop’. When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of ‘Flip or Flop’ and the series will continue production as scheduled.”
Christina and Tarek have not posted to social media since their breakup announcement.
