Christians remember Jesus' walk to Crucifixion

Mar. 30—Christians across Ashtabula County took up large wooden crosses and re-enacted part of the walk Christians believe Jesus took more than 2,000 years ago before His Crucifixion.

Ashtabula-area churches worked together and carried a cross throughout the downtown area praying for a variety of businesses, organizations, the homeless and first responders.

A Stations of the Cross ceremony took place at Conneaut Township Park with eight different churches participating in the event designed to reflect on Good Friday.

Andover gathered 25 cross walk participants and walked north on Route 7, stopping for prayer at numerous spots.

Several Orwell churches carried wooden crosses and met at the intersection of Route 322 and Route 45.

Jefferson also had a well-attended cross walk with more than 100 people participating ranging from young children in strollers, to older people making their way more than a mile from start to finish.
