Chisca sign is back Downtown; Shred415 quietly exits Memphis | Mane Street Memphis

You might've noticed a slight change to the Downtown skyline recently and the disappearance of the words "Lyfe Kitchen."

Chisca on Main recently unveiled its new "The Chisca" sign atop the 10-story apartment building at 272 S. Main St.

“We are excited about the unique opportunity to enhance the Memphis skyline and showcase our commitment to providing a superior residential experience in the Historic South Main Arts District,” Jay Curtis of Sunshine Corp. said in a statement. "These signs will reflect the vibrancy and dynamism of our community, adapting their colors to align with events like Grizzlies and Memphis Tigers home games, breast cancer awareness and the annual Beale Street St. Patrick’s Day Parade.”

"The Chisca" sign has returned atop the Chisca on Main mixed-use development. The signage replaced the "Lyfe Kitchen" that was previously installed.

Bartlett-based LSI Graphic designed the new signage. In November 2023, the Design Review Board, an affiliate board of the Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC) approved design plans for the project.

Memphis-based Sunshine Corp. owns the historic Chisca Hotel building, which dates back to 1913. Rockcreek Plaza is the property management company for the site.
