Chip Gaines grew out his signature red locks, and Fixer Upper fans had a lot of opinions about it. Like, a lot. And they were pretty much all negative. But instead of fretting over it, the Texas HGTV star acknowledged the hair controversy in a very altruistic way, writing in a recent email blast, "It's come to my attention that a lot of you hate my current hairstyle. But how MUCH do you hate it? Now's the time to put your money where your mouth is."
Chip went on to explain that he would cut his hair if fans donated to St. Jude as he and Joanna were headed to Memphis to visit the Target House with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and they wanted to do something big for the kids. Specifically, they wanted to present a huge check funded by fans' generosity. "The more money we raise over the next four days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise," he explained, noting that he'll even buzz it all off if the donations warrant it.
Well, it looks like fans gave and gave. Joanna just posted a picture of their visit to St. Jude - and in it, Chip is completely bald! In the caption, Joanna wrote, "We are leaving Memphis changed. Kiddos of @stjude we go with your faces on our minds and your stories in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your home at Target House. We are cheering you on every step of the way."
