China angered by U.S. navy patrol in South China Sea

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's foreign ministry expressed anger on Tuesday after a U.S. navy warship carried out a freedom of navigation operation near a disputed reef in the South China Seas. Ministry spokesman Lu Kang told a daily news briefing the ship illegally entered the waters without China's permission and that the move threatened peace and stability.
