The PAP Community Foundation (PCF) said the two children involved in an alleged molestation case at a Sparkletots Preschool centre in Taman Jurong are currently undergoing counseling.

According to PCF, the children, a boy and a girl, both six-year-old, are being seen by a psychologist.

The girl had earlier reported to the centre’s staff that the boy had touched her inappropriately at the centre on 12 April. The staff immediately notified both children’s parents.

In a statement released on Monday (18 Apr), the PCF said that they are currently investigating the matter.

“We deeply regret the incident and fully sympathise with the parents in their distress. Our top priority is the well-being of our young children,” it said.

A child psychologist and teacher have been assigned to counsel the children, and for the time being, the boy’s parent has agreed not to send him to the centre, said PCF.

The PCF is also liaising with Ministry of Social and Family Development and Early Childhood and Development Agency on the matter, it added.

“Based on the findings and recommendations of the child psychologists, PCF will take the necessary follow-up action. We will do everything we can to ensure our students’ well-being and to provide a safe and conducive environment for them.”

In a Facebook post, the girl’s parent alleged that the boy had put his hand under the girl’s skirt during afternoon nap time and admitted to doing so after being questioned.

“My girl is now feeling so frightened and traumatised. She even voiced out that she is so scared that it will happen again,” said the parent in the post.
