Child transported to hospital after medical emergency at Liberty Middle School

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — A child was transported to the hospital after a medical emergency on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster said the call came in at 2:47 p.m.

John Peck with Madison City Schools said a student had a medical emergency during physical education class. Staff and the school nurse responded quickly, Peck said.

“Within minutes, HEMSI, Madison Police and Madison Fire Department were on campus addressing the situation,” the school system added.

The student’s parents were notified, and Webster said the child was transported to Huntsville Hospital Women and Children.
