Child dies in hospital after being hit by car in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Officials said that a child died in the hospital after a car hit her in a gas station parking lot Tuesday afternoon.

D.C. Fire and EMS said that crews were dispatched to the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. in Southeast D.C. around 4 p.m. for a girl who was hit by a car.

Laurel police investigating fatal pedestrian crash

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to that area as well.

MPD said that the driver of the car stayed at the scene after hitting the child. Officials did not say if the driver would face any charges.
