Child fatally struck by vehicle in Williamsburg: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 10-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened at Wallabout Street and Wythe Avenue around 2:40 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The girl was taken to a local hospital where she died, police said.

The driver, a 62-year-old male, stayed at the scene of the crash, authorities said.

It remains unclear if the driver will face any criminal charges. Sources say the driver is being cooperative with police, and an investigation is currently being conducted.
