Chiefs fans have waited more than two months for a wide receiver to step into the No. 1 role, and it may have finally happened Sunday.
Rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice had his first 100-yard game during Sunday’s 31-17 win over the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and he was a handful for the Raiders.
Rice finished with eight catches for 107 yards and a touchdown, although he also had a drop.
But two of those receptions Sunday showed Rice’s versatility and why the team used a second-round pick on him in this year’s draft at Union Station in Kansas City.
First there was this: Rice made a great catch-and-run and scored on a 39-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter that made it a two-score game.

A little later, the Chiefs were pinned back at their own 7-yard line in the fourth quarter when Rice made a great grab of this pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The play picked up 19 yards.
