Authorities have arrested a Chickasha man in connection with the shooting deaths of his parents and sister.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested Jacob Mayhugh, 22, on three complaints of murder in the first degree.

Records show Mayhugh was booked into the Grady County jail early Wednesday. Bond was not yet set.

On May 11, two women and a man were found dead from gunshot wounds inside a Chickasha home.

The victims were identified by police as Mayhugh’s parents and sister — James and Patty Mayhugh, ages 55 and 54, and Shayla Mayhugh, 28.

The bodies were found after the Chickasha Police Department received a 911 call in reference to shell casings found on the front porch and three people possibly dead inside a home in the 1000 block of S Sixth Street.

Police requested aid from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. After knocking on the door, authorities forced their way into the home. Inside, authorities found an AR-15-style gun lying near the entryway, the OSBI said.

Agents later identified the serial number on the weapon as matching one allegedly purchased by Jacob Mayhugh on April 25 at a Chickasha store. Mayhugh is alleged to have also purchased a 9mm pistol.

Both weapons were located inside the residence, according to the affidavit. Investigators also found several spent shell casings.

Patty Mayhugh was found dead near the doorway, according to the affidavit. James Mayhugh was found dead on the living room floor. Shayla Mayhugh was found dead near her father.

During the investigation, the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team checked surveillance cameras in the Oklahoma City area and located the gray 2000 GMC Yukon that Jacob Mayhugh was known to drive.

The vehicle allegedly was observed several times throughout Oklahoma City from 6:44 p.m. the night before the homicides until May 11 when it was found about 4:30 p.m. parked and locked near the intersection of S Walker and W California avenues.

Cameras recorded a man parking the vehicle and walking away just after 7 p.m. the night before.

Mayhugh’s girlfriend identified him as the man who walked away from the vehicle, according to the affidavit.

Using a search warrant for the vehicle, an OSBI agent found a black cellphone in a pink case, a black wallet containing an Oklahoma driver's license for Mayhugh, $738 in cash, car keys to the vehicle and two loaded AR-15-style magazines with writing on them in white paint.

At the homicide scene, the AR-15-style magazine also had white paint writing on it, according to the affidavit.

On Tuesday, the OSBI arrested Mayhugh in downtown Oklahoma City.

Authorities did not specify details of the arrest.
