That is until we came across the Ark Shelter, the idea child of architecture students from Belgium. At 29 feet by 10 feet, it makes having your own no-stress, forest hideaway a reality–and with chic surroundings to boot.
Outfitted with sleek black paint outside and lighter wood paneling within, the ARK's furnishings are pared-down yet provide all the amenities you could need.
On the inside, you'll find a built-in platform bed adjoined to a large picture window, plus a modern stove, table for two, full kitchen and bathroom, reports Curbed. The floor-to-ceiling windows on either side of the structure also offer plenty of natural light.
With no TV or gadgets in sight, amazing views and simple, elegant furniture (also crafted from the same wood used on the walls), the ARK is the ultimate real-life cocoon to hide away from the world.
Not only does this prefabricated retreat come fully furnished (complete with everything from appliances to cooking utensils), it's also designed to be shipped and installed practically anywhere.

"We thought about a way to escape our stressful lives and to get back to our roots," says the ARK founders in their mission statement. "Your shelter provides you the ability to enjoy nature by becoming part of it, directing all attention to the wonderful view."
While one of these modular wooden homes runs for $59,000, the price tag may just be worth it to have the chance to create your own hide out anywhere you please.
Another upside is that the ARK is completely sustainable. By collecting rainwater and using wind power to produce electricity, the tiny home becomes its own self-supporting house.
