Chevrolet reveals production version of Beat facelift

With confirmed plans to launch the Beat facelift soon, Chevrolet has revealed pictures of the revised model. Being offered as a facelift model, the car will not get major mechanical upgrades and it will be restricted to cosmetic tweaks. We expect that the facelift model will be launched early in 2017.

The new Chevrolet Beat will continue to be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will be powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine which puts out 77bhp of power and 107Nm of torque. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine which puts out 56bhp of power and 143Nm of torque. Both the engines will continue to be offered with a five-speed manual transmission.

In terms of design, the front section gets a new grille setup which complements the wider headlamps. The car now gets more prominent front wheel arches, while its sides have not received any major upgrades. The rear section is not visible for now, but we believe that it will get a redesigned taillight assembly. The interior will carry a fresh look and a touchscreen infotainment system could be offered on higher variants.

As for the pricing aspect, we do not expect to see a change owing to stiff competition in this segment, especially post the launch of Tata Tiago which comes at a lucrative price tag. Chevrolet plans on introducing five new models in the course of the next two years, it includes models like - Essentia , Beat, Beat Activ, Trailblazer and the next-gen Cruze. Amongst the five, the Beat facelift being a mild facelift version will be the first one to be introduced.
