Chevrolet recalls Trailblazer in Brazil for airbag concerns

Chevrolet has issued a recall for its SUV, the Trailblazer in Brazil. The car maker admitted that the versions in question are the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 models.
Chevrolet added that these cars need to return to Chevy dealerships as they have been identified with a problem related to the operation of the curtain airbag. The chassis numbers involved range from DC400034 to GC416790. A total of 7,968 units are involved and all the SUVs came off the production floor at the Sao Jose dos Campos plant between 6th April, 2012 and 26th November, 2015.
In a statement, the car maker clarifies the presence of foam behind the roof and columns which can affect the complete deployment of the curtain airbag in the event of a collision. This could, in turn, compromise the protection of occupants and increase the risk of an injury. Repairs will not take more than 30 minutes, and will include a check-up and removal of the foam from the roof lining and side columns on the highlighted units.
Brazilian owners can get more information on the official website or by calling the helpline. Chevrolet does not offer curtain airbags on the Indian Trailblazer.
