Chesapeake fire crews respond to roof fire on Bangor Crescent

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3400 block of Bangor Crescent located in the Western Branch section of the city, officials said.

Around 5:10 p.m., crews responded after a Chesapeake Police Officer spotted smoke coming from the residence while passing by. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the structure.

Chesapeake and Suffolk crews stretched hose lines to the attic of the structure bringing the fire under-control around 5:40 p.m. The occupants were not home during the time of the fire.

The occupants are displaced. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental.
