Cheers! Davidson’s two new social districts are opening on Friday

DAVIDSON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Davidson made an impromptu announcement Friday that its two new social districts will open ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend.

“Having social districts in Davidson is a welcomed opportunity to invigorate the economic development of the Town,” said Davidson’s Economic Development Director Kim Fleming. “This is a great way to encourage patronage of local businesses by our residents and visitors.”

The town’s commissioners approved the districts in May of last year.

The districts will be known as the Davidson Main Street Social District and the Davidson Circles Social District and will operate from 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Businesses that are not participating in the social districts will have a poster saying that alcohol is not permitted inside the venue.

There will be specially marked cups with an approved logo design for visitors to the social district. The designated boundaries of the social districts will be marked with signage.
