Check your Mega Millions tickets: $20,000 winning tickets purchased in South Carolina

Mega Millions players in Chesnee and Lexington should check their tickets, because we have two lucky winners.

During Friday, April 12's drawing, customers at the Publix located on the Corner Stop #116 on Hampton Street in Chesnee and Platt Springs Road in Lexington won $20,000.

To win $10,000, the ticket holders matched four white ball numbers and the gold Megaball number. The players also purchased the Megaplier option, doubling their winnings to $20,000.

The players missed hitting the jackpot by one number.

What were the winning numbers?

The winning numbers were 1, 12, 14, 18, and 66, with a Megaball number of 16. By purchasing the Megaplier option, the players doubled their lottery win to $20,000.

Over 8,000 players in SC hold tickets for prizes from $2 up to $20,000, said a South Carolina Education Lottery press release. More than $3,000 players added Megaplier to their tickets for their winnings to be multiplied by "2." Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
