Charlotte church youth group trailer stolen

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A youth group at a local church is looking for help. They say the trailer they use to serve the community was stolen over the weekend.

The Charlotte Ambassadors Pathfinder Club said it held fundraisers a few years back to purchase that trailer. They use it to collect food for the local food pantry and help families in need.

The group also uses the trailer for camping, as their group encourages young people to spend time outdoors.

Over the weekend, someone cut the padlock on the trailer in the church’s parking lot and then drove off with the trailer.

The Pathfinders told 6 News they’re not angry about it–they just want their trailer back.

“Our club is small, and it took us a lot to earn enough money to buy that trailer,” said Tim Castanon, Director of the Charlotte Ambassadors Pathfinder Club. “It did have graphics on it, with our logo.”

Assistant Director Sheri Castanon suggested that the person who took the trailer could just return it, no questions asked. “The people that took it, you know, they may have needed it for some reason for the weekend. Maybe they could return it and just let us have it back for the youth group,” she said.

The group also has a big event coming up this summer, and they need the trailer to prepare for the opportunity. Anyone with information that could help find the trailer can call Charlotte Police.
