Charleston School District unveils newly-renovated library, classrooms
CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Recent renovations at Charleston High School are almost complete.
The Charleston Community Unit School District provided an update on the construction via their website, showing some of the improved areas of the school in photos. The renovations focused on the school’s library, 400 Wing and Business Department.
Among other changes, the Business Department was relocated to a different part of the building, school officials said, due to growth from CHS Industries. There are two new student-run businesses: a coffee shop and a t-shirt and poster printing store and there is a new media center in the library.

School officials said the new paint, lighting, flooring and furniture makes these areas practically unrecognizable compared to how they appeared before construction.
“We are very pleased with all of the recent updates at CHS, and we think you all will be too,” they said.
