'Seinfeld' actor Charles Levin's body found 'partially eaten by vultures'

The body of actor Charles Levin was found partially consumed by vultures after he died following a fall down a 30ft slope in Grants Pass, Oregon, reports have revealed.

Levin, who had appeared in US sitcom Seinfeld, was found dead on 13 July near a remote mountain road after being reported missing by his son Jesse on 28 June.

Reports from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety obtained by the Daily Mail detail how his body was found naked and wedged between two trees after falling down the ravine.

It also notes that there were signs of “animal scavenging likely in the form of turkey vultures" due to bird faeces found on and around the body.

The 70-year-old's car had been discovered at the top of the ravine with his pug Boo Boo Bear found deceased in the stranded vehicle.

He is thought to have been trying to get home through a backroad when he became lost and ended up on a mountain path.

Levin was able to be identified through dental records with a coroner subsequently recording that his death was "accidental".

The actor appeared in one episode of Seinfeld, "The Bris", in 1993 as a mohel, a person who performs circumcisions under Jewish law with his character accidentally cutting Jerry Seinfeld's finger.

Among other television parts in Alice and NYPD Blue, Levin also had minor roles in films such as Annie Hall, Manhattan, and This Is Spinal Tap.
