Charles County Sheriff’s Office finds over 500 fentanyl pills in man’s home

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said deputies found hundreds of fentanyl pills when searching a man’s home.

CCSO said an ongoing drug investigation led to a search of 35-year-old Leon Baker’s home on Jameson Court on May 15.

Baker was arrested there, and detectives found two handguns, more than 500 fentanyl pills and a large amount of cash.

He was charged with possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, illegal possession of firearms due to a previous felony conviction, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and other related charges.

He was being held at Charles County Detention Center without bond.
