A new weekly prime-time show is coming to CNN, hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley.

The two made the announcement Saturday during TNT’s NBA Tip-Off, saying the new show will air Wednesdays and will be titled “King Charles.”

“I want the show to be nonpolitical,” said Barkley, 60, though he admitted the show would occasionally touch on politics, reports CNN Business.

“You know (King) is going to be a straight shooter. I’m going to be a straight shooter,” he added. “I know she’s going to be fair and honest and you know I’m going to do the same thing.”

The show is expected to examine any and all current topics, said King, ranging from tougher conversations like gun control to lighter material like food and popular culture.

“I think that decorum and courtesy and kindness always work,” the 68-year-old anchor added. “But everybody I know has an opinion on something. We just need to figure out a way to have a good conversation without tearing each other down. And I think we can do that.”

The two are also expected to be joined by weekly guests who are at the center of that week’s conversation.

“King Charles” is expected to launch this fall and air well into 2024, according to an email sent to staff by CNN CEO Chris Licht on Saturday.

Licht said more information on the show’s focus will follow in the coming months but that it would offer “culturally relevant programming and unique perspectives.”

Both King and Barkley will continue in their current roles during the new gig, with King anchoring CBS Mornings and Barkley at WBD Sports.
