Charging documents unsealed in 2023 Kansas City kidnapping, homicide case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County Court unsealed a case filed in connection to a kidnapping and killing that happened last fall.

On October 17, 2023, around 9 p.m., Kansas City police officers found 40-year-old Ronnisha Danner lying dead on a sidewalk near E. 65th Street and The Paseo.

Jean Felix, 42, was accused in Danner’s death.

The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office charged Felix with first-degree murder, kidnapping, three counts of armed criminal action and first-degree assault.

The case was unsealed Wednesday, March 27.

Felix is being held on a $500,000 cash only bond.
