Chargers wish rookie Mike Williams happy birthday - but they're a bit early

From the You Had One Job Dept.:

The Los Angeles Chargers social media team sent out a tweet on Friday wishing rookie first-round pick Mike Williams a happy birthday.

Except…they were a little early. Two months early, to be exact.

The Chargers’ tweet has been deleted now, and it looks like Williams’ response has been as well. He took it in stride, saying thanks but noting that his birthday is Oct. 4, not Aug. 4:

A 6-foot-4 receiver out of Clemson, Williams will celebrate his 23rd birthday on Oct. 4. According to ProFootballReference, there are 70 current and former NFL players who were born on Aug. 4, and one of them even has the surname Williams: but that would be defensive back Kevin Williams, who split four seasons between the Jets, Dolphins and Texans.

But an ill-timed birthday wish is the least of Mike Williams problems: a back problem may cause him to miss his entire rookie season. He is currently on the physically unable to perform list.

The Chargers have already lost their second-round pick, offensive lineman Forrest Lamp, for the season to a torn ACL, which he suffered on Wednesday.
