Changes made to Pennsylvania worker benefits after Shapiro signs executive order

(WHTM) — Working for the state has its benefits and Governor Shapiro is adding more of them.

He signed an executive order at the Commonwealth Job Fair at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.

Childcare services will be expanded for state workers, so will sick leave for physical and mental health issues. The order also adds financial incentives to hire people who speak foreign languages.

“1.5 million in Pennsylvania speak a foreign language and should be able to access different services in the Commonwealth in the language they are most comfortable with,” Shapiro said.
