Chance the Rapper is engaged, and we're begging for a wedding invite

Chance the Rapper celebrated the 4th of July with a different kind of fireworks display. 

The 25-year-old rapper proposed to his longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley in the middle of a family barbecue on Wednesday, and she said yes.

While he's been hinting at an upcoming proposal through his lyrics, Chance officially popped the question and confirmed the news himself with a simple tweet shared Wednesday evening. 

Friends and family of the couple also shared news of the engagement through videos and photos posted to social media. In clips of the proposal, we hear Chance asking his now-fiancée to "make him a man and be his wife" alongside their 2-year-old daughter Kensli. 

According to People, the two have been together, on and off, since 2013. 

In May, Chance posted a touching Instagram tribute to his future wife for her birthday. 

"From the beginning beginning to the end end," the caption reads. "You are my oldest and best friend. You are responsible for everyone of the most wonderful things in my life. I'm forever grateful that God made me find you, and even more grateful that you made me find God. Forever and ever babe."

Soon after Chance announced the couple's engagement on Twitter, fans shared their enthusiastic congratulations.
