“The number of neglect and abuse cases in our state is alarming,” Andria Horton, executive director of Champions for Children, said. “It’s imperative to have well-informed early educators because they are on the front lines. They are the ones who are fostering relationships with and teaching the young children of East Texas. We need to be able to rely on their expertise because they are in a position to make an important positive impact on a child’s early life and beyond and are often the first one to suspect and identify abuse.”

Champions for Children said that this training will be vital for early childhood educators battling child neglect and to maintain high-quality childcare and education.
