Champaign-Urbana MTD proposes new services changes, collecting public input

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is looking at making new changes for the next service year and is asking the public for feedback on the proposed changes.

The changes include a new, on-demand van service for northeast Urbana, replacing the current weekday daytime Ruby 11 route and allowing for enhancement of the 10 Gold route in the area. Other changes are the restoration of previously reduced service, new Saturday service to Apollo Drive through the 100 Yellow route and a new bus stop at Plastipak.

Christie Clinic Illinois 5K rescheduled for June

Full details about the changes can be found on the MTD’s website. There are two other ways people can learn more about the proposed changes — through a virtual public hearing recorded on May 6 and an in-person event at Illinois Terminal from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday,

The MTD is receiving feedback on these changes from the public until May 18 — that can be submitted online, by emailing mtdweb@mtd.org or by calling 217-384-8188.
