UPDATE: Champaign intersection reopens after crash leaves motorcyclist hurt

Update at 5:15 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The intersection of Fourth Street and University Avenue is back open after a crash involving a motorcycle on Tuesday.

Champaign Police officials said the victim is in critical condition, but is stable at this time. They could not provide any more information as the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Police Department has confirmed to WCIA that the crash at Fourth Street and University Avenue involved an SUV and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Their condition is unknown.

The CPD also said the intersection of Fourth and University will remain closed for the next two hours as officers investigate.
