Chamber hosts annual workforce summit, career fair

Apr. 4—Skills in Scranton, the workforce development affiliate of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, hosted its annual workforce summit and career fair Thursday at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. Teri Ooms, executive director of The Institute for Public Policy & Economic Development, who served as the keynote speaker, discussed the current state of the workforce including trends, challenges, and opportunities for employers and job seekers in the greater Scranton region. Nearly 200 high school students were expected to participate in the event this year to learn about career pathways and gain essential knowledge and resources.
