Budget

Hotel Compagnoni is a homely establishment and a good choice for families on a tight budget. It was originally built in the 1950s, but rooms have recently been given a complete makeover. It’s located in the resort centre. From £655 b&b, including flights and transfers, Crystal.

Hosquet Lodge is an attractive eco-friendly little b&b with just six rooms with oak floors and natural linen fabrics. It is situated 100m from the slopes. The original building has been in the Hosquet family since 1942, but it's now been entirely rebuilt with geo-thermal heating and solar panels that reduce winter running costs by 80 per cent. From €910 per room, per week, b&b, Hosquet Lodge.

Mid-range

Hotel Bucaneve is an extremely comfortable four-star in the middle of the town. Staff wear traditional Valdostana dress, service is impeccable and there’s a fine attention to detail. The heavily beamed lobby is warm and welcoming with a collection of Alpine ice axes, ropes and ancient skis on the walls. Rooms are individually decorated in classic Alpine style and furnished with antiques. From £1,350 half-board, including flights and transfers, Crystal

Hotel Sertorelli is a less expensive and less opulent alternative in a convenient position for both the lifts and the shops. The hotel has a sauna, hot tub, and steam room. The Sertorelli is known for the quality of its half-board cuisine. From £1,035 half-board, including flights and transfers, Ski Solutions.

Expensive

Hotel Hermitage is one of the great ski hotels of the Alps. It sits in private splendour in the woods to one side of the resort, a short walk or a courtesy minibus ride from the lift station. A roaring log fire in the lobby sets the scene. Decoration is elegantly traditional – you feel you might be in the private home of some wealthy Italian aristocrat. Rooms are remarkably spacious and many have their own sitting rooms and there’s a giant wellness area. From £245 per person, per night, half board, Alpine Answers.

Principe delle Nevi is the resort’s coolest contemporary hotel and in sharp contrast to the traditional Hermitage. It has indoor and outdoor heated pools with spectacular views across the mountains and a Balinese-themed spa. It’s situated up a steep hill in a ski-in/ski-out position above the town, but there’s also a hotel shuttle service. From £120 per person, per night, half board, Alpine Luxury Chalets.
