MANHATTAN. N.Y. (PIX11) — The Central Park Boathouse will reopen on Monday, after shuttering in 2022 and temporarily reopening last summer.

The boathouse’s new operator, Legends Hospitality, has agreed to spend $3 million to operate the venue over the next decade, according to Mayor Eric Adams.

Two chefs are crafting a new menu that will feature dishes including oysters Rockefeller, beef au poivre, and Yorkshire pudding, the New York Times reported. Visitors will even have the chance to record bird sightings in a Boathouse bird registry.

The Loeb Boathouse, which first opened in 1954, officially closed on December 31, 2022, after the former operator, Dean J. Poll, said he was forced to shut down the venue due to rising costs of goods and labor.
