Over the years, we've been thrilled when several of our favorite celebs have mentioned that they were really passionate about styling homes or have even announced that they've designed housewares or furniture lines. Some of them are an obvious fit. (Actors and singers are creative, so why wouldn't they be talented designers?) But sometimes it's a bit, well, surprising.
While Justin Timberlake has taken his obvious design sensibility and enthusiasm for decor to the next level by joining stylist Estee Stanley andlaunching Homemintwhere they've curated some fab furnishings, the thought of NBA playerLebron James designing kid's furnitureis a little odd!
Is there anything he can't do? This former boy band heart-throb, turned solo singer turned actor (still heart-throb) also has a knack for interior design. Timberlake is a co-curator and designer of HomeMint. Just one more reason to be upset that he's officially off the market.
Kirstie Alley
Alley's stint as the spokeswoman for Pier 1 Imports was no coincidence--this actress worked in interior design before she was casted in her debut role on Cheers. Her own home in Wichita, Kansas, is proof of her decor skills.
P. Diddy
Famous for his music, acting roles, his white parties and his clothing line, this mega-star also has a home collection under his clothing brand Sean John, which is sold at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Cindy Crawford
This former supermodel channeled her experience with high fashion into creating a stylish and refreshing home decor line, Cindy Crawford Style for JCPenny
Vida by Eva Mendes at Macy's consists of brightly colored, patterned dinnerware that expresses this actresses Latina roots.
Sofia Vergara
This Modern Family star just recently launched her line, Sofia by Sofia Vergara at Kmart, which is full of affordable decor for the bedroom and bath in deep purples, grays, beiges and black.
Beyonce
This pop superstar's design house, House of Dereon, includes bedding and drape collections fit for a diva.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Although she doesn't have her own decor line, Paltrow claims to be obsessed with home decor. And considering her recent purchase this summer of Veranda’s "House of Windsor" show home, and her three other gorgeous homes, we'd have to agree.
LeBron James
We were shocked to learn this NBA star designed a line of children's furniture, Home Court by Lebron James, with Ohio-based furniture company American Signature, back in 2010 when he played for the Caveliers.
Lenny Kravitz
This singer/songwriter has created a posh home design collection, Kravitz Design, which includes custom-made furniture, gorgeous Swarovski crystal lighting fixtures and daring patterned wallpaper.
Pippa Middleton
Known as somewhat of a party girl, it seems fitting that Ms. Middleton has written a book on party-planning, which launches October 30. Although it's not based solely on interior design, her book, “Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends,” will offer a comprehensive, stress-free guide for decorating and entertaining for any occasion.
