Celebrities React to the Dakota Access Pipeline Victory
Yesterday marked a historic victory for the Standing Rock Sioux when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced it would halt construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline under the controversial location of Lake Oahe in North Dakota, and it will explore alternate routes instead.
The decision came after months of protests at Standing Rock, which gained support from individuals beyond the native community: politicians, veterans and celebrities. Some, such as actress Shailene Woodley (who was briefly arrested for trespassing) and rapper Vic Mensa, were on location participating in demonstrations. After the momentous decision was announced yesterday, people across the country celebrated the news. Scroll down to see how some celebs reacted.
