Celebrating Easter in SLO County? Hop to these 6 free, family-friendly events

Looking for some egg-cellent Easter fun?

There are plenty of family-friendly activities in store this week in San Luis Obispo County, from egg hunts and bunny hop races to bounce houses and carnival games. As of Thursday morning, there were no plans to cancel events due to stormy weather, organizers said.

All events are free and open to the public, although some activities may cost extra. Participants should bring their own baskets.

Family Egg Hunt & Festival

What: From an all-ages egg hunt to bunny hop races and an egg toss competition, this event has plenty of fun for the entire family. Other highlights include bounce houses, carnival games, face painting and free barbecued hot dogs.

Cayucos Easter Dog Parade

What: See pups flaunt springtime finery at this beachfront Easter parade. There will also be a photo booth and T-shirts for sale. Two-legged participants get free bunny ears while supplies last.

When: Noon to 1 p.m. Saturday

Bay-Osos Kiwanis Egg Hunt

What: This outdoor event kicks off with costume and egg-coloring contests, followed by an egg hunt for kids 10 and under.

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. egg hunt

What: Children 12 and under can enjoy egg hunts, bounce houses, games, crafts and even a magic show.

Reggie Perkins Memorial Easter Egg Hunt

What: Hunt for eggs, play games and meet the Easter Bunny at this popular outdoor event. Free trolley rides are available to and from Cambria and San Simeon.

When: Noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. trolley rides

Easter Egg Hunt on the Bluff at Dolphin Bay

What: Snap some photos with the Easter Bunny before participating in an all-ages egg hunt on Dolphin Bay Resort’s lawn. Find a golden egg and win a prize basket. There will be candy and coloring pages for the kids and complimentary champagne for grownups.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday
