Celebrating 50 years of educating future nurses at CSUB

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — For 50 years, the nursing program at Cal State Bakersfield has sent hundreds, if not thousands, of trained nurses into the world to care for the sick and injured.

CSUB plans to commemorate the anniversary with a fundraiser to support the program and welcome back former students. The fundraiser takes place on April 27, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Doré Theatre on the CSUB campus.

The deadline to register for the event has been extended until Monday, April 22. Nursing professor emeritus, Dr. Peggy Leapley, nursing alumna and 2022 CSUB Alumni Hall of Fame inductee Terri Church, and Jean Steel are the scheduled speakers at the event.
