Celebrate spring in Athens with these East Texas Arboretum events

ATHENS, Texas (KETK) – The East Texas Arboretum in Athens is kicking off spring with events on Friday and Saturday.

‘Kasting for Kale’ memorial bass tournament held at Lake Fork

The East Texas Arboretum said they are hosting a plant sale on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring “pops of colors, both ornamental and fruit bearing trees, reliable perennials and some warm weather vegetables.”

They also said that the Henderson County Master Gardeners will be on-site to help people make the right decision for their gardens.

The East Texas Arboretum said they will also be hosting a Spring Fest on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission for the event is $10 per car. The arboretum said that the event will have food trucks, bounce houses, games, bubble stations, music, face painting, seed catapulting, a meadow maze and Henderson County Performing Arts Center’s “Enchanted Forest Trail.”
